Ginger With Jalen
Jalen came back to school with Ginger recently and had written out a wonderful story complete with pictures! Below is Jalen's story.
Ginger At Jalen's Home
On Saturday morning, we went to t-ball. Ginger shouted "Go Roosters!"
He had fun meeting the team after the game and Ginger was part of the team. On Saturday afternoon Ginger watched The Breakers on TV with me. We liked the really humongous 3 pointer. On Sunday morning we played basketball. Ginger is really good at slam dunks. It was fun having Ginger at my home.

It's A Busy News Day.
WHOAH! I almost forgot to share the big news! It is with great happiness that I announce Ginger (the class bear) is now OFFICIALLY married to 'Sally'. The ceremony was only just yesterday and appears on this blog courtesy of our attending journalist, Nicole. It appears that Nicole has been reading up on her Woman's Day Magazine because as far as celebrity weddings go, Ginger's has been reported with much fanfare! THANKS, NICOLE!

Parent Help...Again!
Thanks again to the parents who have come in to help out with our Christmas crafts! If there are any other Room 18 parents out there who could spare some time to come into the classroom as well over the next week, it would be appreciated as always. We have about 1 week left to make sure our Christmas crafts are ready to go up on the tree. Yikes!
Cheers,
Mr. Nash

Science Friday!
Another Science Friday has come and gone. Today we looked at floating and sinking.
The kids should now be able to explain why peanuts sink in water, but float in fizzy drink! Another one of life's little mysteries explained right here in Room 18...

Ho Ho Ho!
Getting excited about Christmas already? Mr. Nash certainly has been...and a lot of that is due to the kids coming back from music class with Mrs. Felix every Wednesday singing Christmas carols. Feeling the need to spread the festive cheer, Mr. Nash snuck into the music room today and managed to record Room 18 + Room 19 practicing up for the big caroling/tree/picnic evening in December. Put on your santa hats, cause this singing will put you in the festive mood for sure! You can listen to them by clicking HERE.
Podcast Episode #21
Our new microphone has finally arrived! This one should keep our podcasts static-free and at a reasonable volume. You can listen to our podcast HERE.

I felt terrified at the bone chuckling spider and a roach creeping in the haunted house that made me want to heave and pull my teeth out.
We went into an old old lounge. It felt like there was a trap door just waiting for someone to fall into it with a three headed dog directly below it, having the same attacks as the one in my playstation but you can imagine that game yourself aaaaaaah!.
We went into a kitchen that had old icky sticky cobwebs hanging everywhere and as dark as a cosmic storm from the inside which I imagine is very dark.
We slipped into a bedroom. It felt like a lion was sneaking up on us and would have gobbled us up and chewed us like a chew toy. Yikes.
So that was how I imagined the haunted house.

The dark scary haunted house.
We walked in the dark spooky doorway. People were screaming like dinosaurs. It looked as dark as bears fur. There were creepy spiders all over the place. I thought I was going to die.
Then we went to the kitchen. Ethan was saying “Mum! Mum! Mum!”. The bench was as blue as the sky.
Then we went to the bedroom. We heard someone say “wait up”, but it was only Ginger. The bed was as soft as cat’s fur.

The haunted house is as scary as bats and watch out for the tooth crackling ferocious huge monster!
In the dark and spooky haunted house we went in the lounge. It was so old that when you stepped on the floor it went crack. Then we went in the kitchen, the cobwebs were as sticky as gum and as big as trees. Then we went in the bedroom. Just then we saw a monster looking at us, then Min said “Is that the tooth crackling ferocious huge monster?” “Yes it is, run!” said Aaron. "Aaaaaaaaaah!"
Then we ran all the way home.

One very scary spooky night Room 18 visited a haunted scary house.
We crept into the long long lounge with creepy spiders. We shut the door.
Then we went into the kitchen with heaps of cobwebs and I thought that I saw a 9 foot monster but it was just Ginger. Spiders were just spinning their webs.
Then we went into the bedroom it was really a 100 foot monster. We looked and there was a very very spooky skeleton. What a scary skeleton! We ran out of the bedroom and ran out of the kitchen and ran out of the long long lounge and out of the house to the class and we hugged each other. We looked at each other, we were wondering if the skeleton had come back. We had just seen Ginger outside we were going to see Ginger.

Monday's Feature Writer- Our Trip To The Haunted House -Recount Writing
Thump, thump I can hear my heart beating like a drum.
We walked into the evil spooky haunted house. When we got in we heard a really scary noise and I said “It was just Mr Nash” and then we got in the lounge and we saw a spider web and it was stuck in our hair.
Then we went in the kitchen and the kitchen had dishes on the floor and one of us stepped on a glass plate and it had cobwebs on it. Then we went into the bedroom and there was a big hairy beast standing in front of us and Madeline said “It’s only Ginger”.

Podcast Episode #19
We are currently awaiting a new microphone as the one we have has not been working very well lately (which explains why there are fewer podcasts being uploaded over the past couple weeks).
This one seems to be fairly decent without too much static. To listen to it, please click HERE.
