Mrs. Doherty, we have come up with some very persuasive letters to convince you that we need to keep colours at Hobsonville School. We really hope that you will change your mind and allow us to keep our school colourful! We would be very interested to hear your response before we leave for the holidays, please!
Dear Mrs. Doherty,
I strongly believe that we should definitely not have to change the colours at Hobsonville School.
Firstly, I will feel sad if all the lovely and happy colours have gone.
Secondly, if we paint the grass, it might kill the grass.
Thirdly, we might fall from the playground.
Lastly, we might not find our classroom.
You should definitely not take our rainbow colours away.
Isabella

Thirdly, we won't like out uniform.
I definitely think the school should be colourful.

I definitely think we should not have the colours taken away from the school.
Firstly, if the jackets that the teachers wear are black, we will not know if they are on duty.
Secondly, we will not go to school because it is all black.
Thirdly, all the bags will be black and we will not know who's is who's.
Grace
Dear Mrs. Doherty,
I definitely think we should have colours at school.
Firstly, we wouldn't be able to to see the duty teachers without their colourful vests.
Secondly, we would lose our uniform in the black grass.
Thirdly, it would be difficult to know which is the which and which bookbag is which and which tote tray is mine.
Lastly, if the grass was painted black it would kill the grass and that would not be good at all!
So I think that we should keep the colours this way.

Dear Mrs. Doherty,
It is felt be all the children in Room 18, Hobby MUST not ban colours.
Firstly, we would have to have burnt food like burnt strawberries and burnt grapes. YUCK!
Secondly, if we paint the grass black it might kill it and that wouldn't be good at all!
Thirdly, it would be way harder to find out who's bag was who's!
Lastly, it would be really difficult to find out which teachers were on duty without their colourful vests on. So what would we do if someone was hurt? And we could fall off the playground if it was all black!
So Mrs. Doherty, that's why Room 18 thinks that Hobby must not be all black.
Callum
Dear Mrs. Doherty,
We must have colours at Hobsonville School.
